The Senate’s Health Care Reform… I Mean Takeover. The Facts – Part 5

This is more of a rant than anything else but it does bring out a few facts on how The One has managed to get this health care reform debacle this far… here goes.

If this health care reform bill is so awesome why are The One and his statist allies having to to pit one group against another to get it passed? Why do 48 other states taxpayers have to pay for deals made with Nebraska and Louisiana? Why do nearly 88% of employees in this country have to subsidize around 12%? Because the 12% are unions and they strong armed Mr. Hopenchange himself into screwing the vast majority of hard working Americans and doing it with a smile on his face.Check out this post from Dr. Zero.

This administration has made deals behind closed doors with no press or coverage of any kind. They have bought votes. Not just made deals based on principles or ideals, but down in the gutter, dirty, sleazy big money changing hands kinds of deals. They have made deals not with their money, but with ours. The Obamessiah, Pelosi, and Reid made these deals behind closed doors but they did it in front of everybody. They do not care that we don’t want this and they don’t care that we know they are making deals with our money without our consent. Who the hell do they think they are? I’ll tell you. They think they are invincible, all knowing, and right now they think they are all powerful. They are wrong.

Hopefully Scott Brown will remind them of that fact tomorrow. We will remind them in a big way in November!

America Rising… Win In 2010

This is frigging awesome. A rising tide to wash away the trash occupying the Senate, the House and then the White House.

The first half of this doesn’t do much for me because I never considered voting for The One or any other statist. The fact that they were looking to the government to make things better is actually kind of sad, but they seem to have come to their senses. Check it out.

Obama’s “Stimulus Plan”==> Pork Filled and Fear Driven

The One’s stimulus plan is anything but. Make a list of everything that liberals have lusted after for as long as there have been liberals, put them all in one place, decide that money is no object and you get this massive stool sample the Obama administration likes to call a “stimulus plan. It reads like a laundry list of things that would have never made it into the regular budget under normal conditions, much less in the current economic climate.

President Obama is using fear tactics and “chicken little” like hysteria to rush this thing through the House and Senate. The real reason for this rush to stimulus isn’t a looming financial collapse though. The real reason is that every day that goes by more and more people are finding out what’s in this piece of crap bill and don’t want to swallow what’s being forced down their throats.

This stimulus plan provides stimulus like the Fairness Doctrine will provide fairness. Here’s just a little taste of what’s in it according to the House republicans:

  • $726 million for after-school snack programs
  • $44 million for repairs to the Agriculture Department
  • $1 billion for the 2010 Census
  • $650 million for digital TV coupons
  • $1 billion for climate satellite and habitat restoration programs
  • $400 million for state and local governments to acquire new vehicles
  • $600 million to replace a portion of the federal government vehicle fleet
  • $462 million to replace Centers for Disease Control facilities
  • $7.7 billion for construction and repairs of federal buildings
  • $2.1 billion for Head Start and Early Head Start programs
  • $13 billion for special education state grants
  • $15.6 billion for Pell grants
  • $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts

You make the call. Not much stimulus in that $43,332,000,000 now is there?

Get involved, call your congressman and senator and tell them to stop it now.

20 Things You Need To Know About The House Stimulus Plan

FreedomTalks put up a great post on 1-26-09 about the Stimulus/Pork plan that passed the House. You really need to see this stuff. It is absolutely amazing that this stuff could ever be passed off as a stimulus to anything except big bloated government. Check these 20 things out that they got from the Republican House Leadership web site. The facts are out there gang if you just go looking for them.

1. The $825 billion package slated for a House vote later this week will exceed more than $1.1 trillion when adding in the interest ($300 plus billion) between 2009-2019 to pay for it.

2. The Capitol Hill Democrats’ plan includes funding for contraceptives; regardless of where anyone stands on taxpayer funded contraception, there is no question that it has NOTHING to do with the economy.

3. The legislation could open billions of taxpayer dollars to left-wing groups like the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), which has been accused of voter fraud, is reportedly under federal investigation; and played a key role in the housing meltdown.

4. Here are just a few of the programs and projects that have been included in the House Democrats’ proposal:

· $650 million for digital TV coupons.

· $600 million for new cars for the federal government.

· $6 billion for colleges/universities – many which have billion dollar endowments.

· $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts.

· $44 million for repairs to U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters.

· $200 million for the National Mall, including $21 million for sod.

5. The plan establishes at least 32 new government programs at a cost of over $136 billion. That means more than a third of this plan’s spending provisions are dedicated to creating new government programs.

6. The plan provides spending in at least 150 different federal programs, ranging from Amtrak to the Transportation Security Administration. Is this the “targeted” plan Democratic leaders promised?

7. Even though the legislation contains at least 152 separate spending proposals, the authors of the plan can only say that 34 have any chance at keeping or growing jobs.

8. Just one in seven dollars of an $18.5 billion expenditure on “energy efficiency” and “renewable energy programs” would be spent within the next 18 months.

9. The total cost of this one piece of legislation is almost as much as the annual discretionary budget for the entire federal government.

10. The House Democrats’ bill will cost each and every household $6,700 in additional debt, paid for by our children and grandchildren.

11. The bill provides enough spending – $825 billion – to give every man, woman, and child in America $2,700. $825 billion is enough to give every person in Ohio $72,000.

12. $825 billion is enough to give every person living in poverty in the United States $22,000.

13. Although the House Democrats’ proposal has been billed as a transportation and infrastructure investment package, in actuality only $30 billion of the bill – or three percent – is for road and highway spending. A recent study from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office found that only 25 percent of infrastructure dollars can be spent in the first year, making the one year total less than $7 billion.

14. Much of the funding within the House Democrats’ proposal will go to programs that already have large, unexpended balances. For example, the bill provides $1 billion for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) – a program that already has $16 billion on hand. States also are sitting on some $9 billion in unused highway funds – funds that Congress is prepared to rescind later this year.

15. All board members of the “Accountability and Transparency Board” created by this legislation are appointees of the President; none will be appointed by Congress.

16. A scant 2.7 percent, or $22.3 billion of the overall package, is dedicated to small business tax relief.

17. The Joint Committee on Taxation estimates that the legislation increases by seven million the number of people who get a check back from the IRS that exceeds what they paid in payroll and income taxes.

18. The “Making Work Pay” tax credit at the center of the plan amounts to $1.37 a day, or about the price of a cup of coffee.

19. Almost one-third of the so-called “tax relief” in the House Democrats’ bill is spending in disguise, meaning that true tax relief makes up only 24 percent of the total package – not the 40 percent that President Obama had requested.

20. $825 billion is just the beginning – many Capitol Hill Democrats want to spend even more taxpayer dollars on their “stimulus” plan. In fact, the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. David Obey (D-WI), told Roll Call earlier this month, I would not be surprised to see us go further on some of these programs down the line.”

The Senate has an even bigger “Stimulus” in the works. Get on the phone and fire up the email and let your senators know that you want this crap stopped NOW!

Obama Week One Recap

Week one for The Obamessiah was a weak one. He is definitely not off to a “centrist” kind of a start. The talking heads who believed that Pelosi and Reid would push him more to the center were dead wrong.

Nothing in depth here, just a little list of The One’s first week accomplishments:

  • Signs order to close Gitmo Detainee camp within a year.
  • Puts an end to enhanced interrogation techniques, (waterboarding).
  • Appoints tax cheat/evader/liar as Secretary of Treasury.
  • Disses Bush on the official Whitehouse web site over Katrina.
  • Closes CIA black sites.
  • Pushing the Stimulus/Socializing of America bill using fear tactics.
  • Pushing Israel to open border with Gaza.
  • Ends federal ban on funding of groups who provide abortions overseas.
  • Press secretary can’t even answer simple question concerning whether we are still having a “War on terror” or not.

Obama hit the ground running left as fast as he can get there. We have to keep our eye on him and his partners in socialising America Pelosi and Reid. Keep in constant touch with your congressman and senator and let them know you want them stopped before they can do to much damage. Let them know you will be watching and you will vote accordingly. The time is now to hold them accountable for their votes.
