- Senator Jim Webb Calls For Halt In Health Care Vote
From The Politico:
In many ways the campaign in Massachusetts became a referendum not only on health care reform but also on the openness and integrity of our government process. It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated.
This statement from Webb is good for the current situation, but the fact that he knows that it was indeed a referendum on openness and integrity in government and restoring the respect of the American people in our government and leaders says volumes. It says that he didn't have a problem with all the shady deals, bribes and back door deals until now. Now that he knows his political future is in jeopardy. Too late Jim.

During a town hall meeting on Aug. 21, 2008, in Chester, Va. then candidate Obama states that:"I'm going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We'll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies — they'll get a seat at the table, they just won't be able to buy every chair.
